This article with a "Giano" motif is inspired by a piece of jewelry from the last half of the 5th century B.C. and found today in the Archeological Museum of Ferrara, Italy.
This piece of jewelry is inspired by an Etruscan necklace dated back to first half of 5th century B.C., found during the archaeological excavation of Palestrina, an ancient Etruscan town in Italy. The necklace is now conserved in the Antikenmuseum in Berlin.

This pieces are inspired from the special Etruscan jewelry technique called granulation, involving the application of tiny granules of metal fused together to form a decorative motif.
The decoration of these earrings is inspired by a common motif in Greek and Roman coinage, the female profile. Surrounded by dolphins, the female profile here represented has been identified with Arethusa, local goddess of the Greek city of Syracuse in Sicily.
